GETTING THE MOST OUT OF GPS
|
To ensure peak performance from the ADEO’s GPS, follow the tips and suggestions outlined below.
|
|
Locking on to Satellites
|
|
- The ADEO must be outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Avoid obstructions to the antenna such as clothing, cables, mp3 players, trees or buildings.
- Orientate your ADEO vertically and remain stationary while acquiring satellites.
- Press the POWER button (located on the bottom of the ADEO). You will hear: "MotionLingo Active Intelligence. Searching for Satellites." The light will glow red.
- During the lock process, you will hear periodic updates, such as: "Satellite strength: Good. 3 satellites are in view."
- When you hear "Satellites found" and the red light begins blinking, you are ready to start your workout.
Important: You can not begin your workout until ADEO says "Satellites found" and the red light begins blinking.
Note: Wait until you get outside to turn on the ADEO.

During Your Workout
|
|
- Keep the antenna pointed up, towards the sky
- Make sure the antenna maintains the best view of the sky possible and remains unobstructed by earphone and audio cables, mp3 players, clothing, packs, belts, etc.
- Avoid running under trees or next to buildings
Note: Some electronic devices (notably the iPod Shuffle) have been known to disrupt GPS signals.

ADEO Optimizer
|
|
ADEO Optimizer is a special utility that calibrates your ADEO, improving satellite lock-on time and providing more accurate GPS data.
How to know if your ADEO is a candidate for the Optimizer:
- When you follow the procedure for locking onto satellites outlined above, does your ADEO consistently take more then 90 seconds to lock onto satellites?
- Does your ADEO regularly report inaccurate data?
- Are your maps frequently erratic?
If so, your ADEO may benefit from the Optimizer.
